Who needs to see a nutritionist?

What should I expect on the first visit?

At the first visit, I obtain a health, medical, food, and weight history.  I find out your goals and what has worked for you and what has not.  Together, we will put together an individualized food plan to meet those goals.

If you are a parent, bringing your child, I request that you attend the first meeting. I meet with you alone for the first 10 minutes to discuss the reason for your child’s visit.   I will then meet with your child alone for 30 minutes. We then we will all meet together for the last 10 minutes to review the nutrition plan.

What should I bring to my first appointment?

Please bring the following:

  • Your insurance card,
  • A list of all medications you are taking, any reports or referrals from your doctor
  • A two day food record including one weekday and one weekend day.

When is payment due?

Pay is due at the time of service.  I do accept credit cards ,checks or cash.

Do you accept insurance payments?

Yes.  I accept Independent Health,  Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield ,Cigna and MVP. Insurance coverage will be verified by my office at time of scheduling your first appointment

How often will I need to see you?

It varies.  At the first visit, we will decide if and when you need to come back.  If your problem is a medical condition, usually you will need only one or two visits.  Weight issues like obesity and eating disorders, tend to be more complicated and require more than 2 visits.
